This exhilarating day tour takes you to Kitulgala, a small town set in the lush Kelani River valley southwest of Kandy, renowned as one of Sri Lanka’s finest white water rafting destinations and the location where the classic film The Bridge on the River Kwai was filmed in the 1950s. The main event is a thrilling Grade 3-4 white water rafting session on the Kelani River, running through jungle gorges, past waterfalls and over a series of exciting rapids led by qualified and safety-certified rafting guides. After the river adventure, the surrounding rainforest offers excellent nature walks to spot endemic birds, giant squirrels and rare amphibians, or you can cool off in the freshwater rock pools below the Kelani River cascades.
